This marks the first instance since 2018 that the Bay of Bengal is experiencing two simultaneous deep depressions. In this article, we explore the expected effects of Cyclone Midhili on Kolkata and the coastal districts of West Bengal. Cyclone Path and Intensity : The deep depression over the Bay of Bengal is projected to transform into Cyclone Midhili, bringing wind speeds of up to 80km per hour. Kolkata is anticipated to witness light rain as the cyclone grazes the Bengal coastline on its way to Bangladesh.
