Introduction:

In a significant development concerning the recent turmoil at Air India Express, where over 170 flights were cancelled due to crew protests, a breakthrough has emerged. 

This breakthrough entails the reinstatement of all 25 terminated crew members and the return of the 300 sick-reporting crew to their duties, marking a crucial turning point in the crisis.

Following conciliation proceedings at the Labour Commissioner's office, both the airline's management and the Air India Express Employees Union reached an agreement. 

A document signed during the meeting, under the auspices of the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), paved the way for the immediate reinstatement of the terminated crew members. 

Additionally, the airline committed to reviewing the cases of these crew members in accordance with service regulations.

Resolution and Reconciliation:

Assurances were provided by the management representatives at the Labour Commissioner's office regarding the resolution of issues raised by the cabin crew. 

Letters of reinstatement were subsequently issued to the terminated employees, ensuring their return to service with immediate effect.

Impact on Operations and Passengers:

The sudden cancellations of flights left passengers stranded, prompting the airline to reduce the number of flights temporarily. 

However, with the reinstatement of crew members, normalcy is expected to be restored within three to four days, easing the inconvenience faced by affected travelers.

Air India Express expressed regret for the disruptions caused to passengers and welcomed the reinstated crew members back to work. 

The airline assured guests of efforts to swiftly restore flight schedules and accommodate their travel needs. Passengers were advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport, with options for refunds or rescheduling available for affected flights.
