Silicon Valley, often criticized for outsourcing tasks at meager wages, is now turning to Karya to revolutionize its approach to data collection. 

Tech giants like Microsoft, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and Google have forged partnerships with Karya to source diverse and high-quality data for their AI products.

"Every year, big tech companies spend billions of dollars collecting training data for their AI," emphasizes Manu Chopra. He asserts that low pay for such critical work is an industry failure that Karya aims to rectify. 

This shift in approach could mark a significant turning point in the economics of the data industry, signaling a more responsible and equitable relationship between Silicon Valley and data providers.

Microsoft and Google's Strategic Partnerships with Karya : 

Microsoft has leveraged Karya to obtain local speech data for its AI products, acknowledging the superior quality of data produced by the startup. 

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation collaborates with Karya to address gender biases in data feeding into large language models, a critical step in promoting inclusivity in AI applications.

Google, on the other hand, relies on Karya and local partners to gather speech data in 85 Indian districts, with plans to expand to cover all districts and build a generative AI model for 125 Indian languages. 

This initiative is pivotal as it aims to rectify the imbalance in AI models developed predominantly with English-language internet data.
