On November 19, a Turkish cargo ship, the Kafkametler, met a tragic fate off Turkey's Black Sea coast during a powerful storm. 

The vessel, carrying 12 crew members, sank after hitting a breakwater near Eregli, in the Zonguldak province. 

The captain had reported the ship drifting toward the breakwater on Sunday morning, and despite adverse weather conditions, the ship succumbed to the elements.

Critical Situation Unfolds: 1 Crew Member Dead, 11 Missing : 

Regrettably, one crew member lost their life, and eleven others remain missing in the aftermath of the cargo ship sinking.

The distressed Kafkametler sent out a distress signal at 10:29 am (0729 GMT) as it headed towards the western Turkish port of Izmir. 

The vessel repeatedly clashed with the breakwater before its tragic descent.

In his last communication, the captain informed authorities about the ship's drifting trajectory. 

The ship's distress signal marked the beginning of a harrowing ordeal, leaving the crew in a perilous situation.

The Kafkametler was transporting ferrosilicon from the Russian port of Temryuk to Aliaga in Turkey.

Another cargo ship, the Cameroon-flagged Pallada, broke into two parts near Eregli, necessitating the rescue of its 13 crew members.
