According to recently obtained documents by TOI, Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan and his wife, Jaya Bachchan, have bestowed their iconic Juhu bungalow, Pratiksha, valued at an impressive Rs 50 crore, to their daughter, Shweta Nanda. 

This residential property is a true gem in Mumbai, with its prominence attracting crowds regularly.

A Closer Look at Pratiksha : 

Pratiksha, spanning across approximately 17,000 sqft, has become a landmark property in Mumbai, witnessing daily gatherings at its entrance. 

The property transfer, including registration, was successfully completed earlier this month, and the actor incurred a stamp duty of Rs 50.7 lakh. Notably, this generous gift was executed through two meticulously prepared gift deeds.

The Bachchan Legacy in Juhu : 

The Bachchans made Pratiksha their home in 1976, adding to their collection of Mumbai properties, which includes Jalsa and Janak in Juhu. 

Their real estate portfolio extends beyond bungalows, encompassing luxury apartments and commercial offices in prime city locations.

Expansion Plans and Architectural Endeavors : 

In a recent development, Jaya Bachchan submitted a proposal for additional construction and alterations to an existing building in Kapol Society, Juhu Vile Parle. 

The proposal aims to build the entire second floor, currently only partly constructed, and an additional floor for residential use.

The Origin of Pratiksha : 

In a blog post from a couple of years ago, Amitabh Bachchan shared the sentimental origin of Pratiksha's name. 

His father, the renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, bestowed the name as he envisioned the house as a welcoming abode for all, quoting, "Swagat sabke liye yaha par, nahi kisi ke liye prateeksha..." (Welcome there is for all in this abode, but we are not waiting for anyone).
