Gaza Communication Blackout Deepens Crisis | Internet and Telephone Services Collapse | a short review

Introduction : Gaza Communication Blackout Amidst Ongoing Conflict :

Under a communication blackout, Gaza's 2.3 million people find themselves isolated from each other and the rest of the world.

Israeli Incursion at Shifa Hospital :

Israeli troops conducted a search at Gaza's largest hospital, Shifa Hospital, aiming to locate traces of Hamas within. The facility, where newborns and hundreds of others are already suffering without electricity, becomes a focal point amid the ongoing conflict.

Internet and Telephone Services Collapse :

Internet and telephone services collapsed across the Gaza Strip due to a lack of fuel, leading to a potential long-term blackout.

Israel hints at expanding its offensive against Hamas to the south, where a majority of the population seeks refuge.

Israeli Troops' Search and Allegations :

Israeli troops continued their search for Hamas traces at Shifa Hospital, displaying what they claim to be a tunnel entrance and weapons found on the premises.

However, evidence of a central Hamas command center allegedly hidden beneath the complex is yet to be released, with both Hamas and hospital staff denying the allegations.

Humanitarian Crisis Deepens :

The communication breakdown exacerbates the severe humanitarian crisis in southern Gaza, disconnecting its 2.3 million people from each other and the outside world.

Israeli airstrikes persist in the south, and the U.N.'s World Food Program warns of an imminent risk of starvation as the food supply breaks down under Israeli restrictions.

Roots of the Conflict :

The war, now in its sixth week, was triggered by Hamas' attack into southern Israel on October 7, resulting in over 1,200 casualties, mostly civilians.

Israel's response involved a prolonged air campaign and a ground invasion of northern Gaza, aiming to remove Hamas from power and neutralize its military capabilities.

Human Toll and Regional Impact :

More than 11,470 Palestinians have lost their lives, with two-thirds being women and minors. Another 2,700 are reported missing, believed to be buried under rubble.

The conflict has also claimed the lives of 56 Israeli soldiers. Tensions spread beyond Gaza, with Palestinian gunmen attacking a checkpoint in the occupied West Bank, claiming the life of an Israeli soldier and injuring three others.

Conclusion :

As the conflict unfolds, the communication blackout intensifies Gaza's isolation, deepening the humanitarian crisis.

The ongoing search for Hamas at Shifa Hospital adds complexity to an already dire situation, with the broader regional impact reflecting the toll of this protracted conflict..
